New Lecturers' Route
NOTE: New Lecturers who started on or after July 2009, see New Lecturers' Course.
The New Lecturers' Route (NLR) is followed by newly appointed lecturers who began Academic Probation before July 2009. It will be phased out completely by summer 2012.
The New Lecturers' Route, accredited by The Higher Education Academy (HEA), has formed part of the University's probation arrangements for new academic staff.
The course includes research, enterprise and teaching as mutually supportive and balanced parts of the role of the academic.
Successful completion of the teaching component of the New Lecturers' Route confers eligibility for Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
