One of the reasons why Materials is such an exciting degree choice is the diverse range of career paths it can offer.
A Materials graduate can enter numerous fields, including aerospace, motorsport, nanotechnology, power generation, construction and medical engineering. Technical roles in areas ranging from design, manufacturing, processing and research, to managerial roles in areas such as production, project consulting and sales and customer support are also possibilities.
What could I earn?
The average starting salary of a graduate Materials Engineer is in the region of £26,000 per year. Once you have reached Chartered Engineer Status, you can you expect to earn in the region of £50,000 per year.
Where might I work?
Many of our graduates are now employed by high profile engineering companies, including Rolls-Royce, Jaguar Land Rover, E.On, Tata Steel, Alstom, BAE Systems, Smiths Medical.
