Research areas are Latvian Libraries in the U.K., Libraries
and Librarianship in the Baltic States, Multilingual aspects of library
and information science terminology. Teaching areas
are Information Handling (Cataloguing),Subject
Analysis and Indexing (thesaurus construction), Bibliographic citation.
Current research
Changes in professional education of librarians in Latvia;
library accreditation in Latvia; advocacy and the Library Association
in Latvia.
External activities
Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.
Elected
Member, Board of the Library Association of Latvia.
Elected Member, Latvian National Council in Great Britain and Head of the
Section on Cultural Documentation.
Member, Terminology of Library Science, Bibliography, Book Science, and
Information Science Sub-Commission opf the Terminology Commission of the
Latvian Academy of Sciences
